Our beloved fortified. Juice of various white varieties + a grape spirit + 4 months in barrel = MJP
Description
The Miscellaneous Juice Project, or MJP as we call it is a mystery blend of white varieties that changes every year we make this wine. Inspired by the Mistelle wines of France, we take fresh Moscato juice & blend with neutral grape spirit, slowly adding pressings from the white varities we crush during vintage. We then ferment on skins for 12 days with a neutral white spirit and then store them in barrel for a period of 4 months in oak before bottling.
The MJP is an interesting fortified style wine that is suitable as an aperitif or for desert. It has lifted aromas of lime zest, madonna lily and ginger spice. The palate with its typical viscosity, is light on its feet with some salivating lime rind acidity, crunchy spice from the pressings juice contribution & a cleansing vein of warming, boozy spirit.
Serve neat & chilled, or with a splash of soda & a wedge of your favourite summer stone fruit.
