2024

$45.00

    Description

    Seasons: Summer

Grapes: Garganega, Verdicchio, Ribolla Gialla + others

The Summer edition of the Seasons range is inspired by the wines of Veneto, to the far north-east of Italy. A cool to mild climate region, it is heavily influenced by Lake Garda to the west & the Adriatic Sea to the East. Particularly a style known as ‘Soave’, a zesty, savoury & intriguing white wine made up primarily of late-ripening Garganega & Verdicchio (Trebbiano di Soave).

Harvested on the same day, in early April, into the same bins to create a field blend. The portions of each variety are not weighed however the blend is estimated at 60% Verdicchio, with small portions of Parellada, Garganega, Ribolla Gialla and Pecorino that are sourced from some young plantings and our experimental row.

Crushed & cold-soaked for two days on skins followed by pressing and a light settle before being tucked away into a small ceramic egg shaped vessel for a textured and shaped palate.

Delicate aromas of citrus blossom, hazelnut skin and yellow grapefruit lead into the summery feel of this wine. Gentle honeydew melon with a grapefruity zesty and linear acidity is checked by a herbaceous edginess. Built with a slightly mealy texture, for width & dimension finishing long & tingly with sea salt minerality.

$2.00 from every bottle sale of this wine will be donated toward the our local Kingston SE National Trust Museum. This is to support their efforts of upkeeping & exhibiting the iconic Cape Jaffa Lighthouse that graces our label.

Decant and serve at 6-8 degrees.
