Spicy & textural cool climate Pinot Gris, grown in our Mt Benson vineyard.
Description
Since we planted this variety in 2007, it has flourished in the cool climate of our coastal environment. A reliably crisp and ultimately approachable wine, the slower ripening ensures layers of complexity and texture to add interest to this wine.
2025 sees a welcome return back to a full, regular cropping in our Mt Benson vineyard. Breezing through a relatively non-existent frost period, the ripening season was long, dry & moderated by the cooling ocean breezes that we are so lucky to have. Our 4000L oak foudre was fulled to ferment a component of this wine to add depth & texture as it blended into the remaining majority which was vinified in stainless steel.
Subtle orchard fruit & spice aromas lead a medium-weighted palate of pear drops, custard apple texture & some spicy length. Trademark Mt Benson acidity ensures the finish is crisp & clean.
